Susan Varnum
Research Interests
Dr. Varnum has a Ph.D in Biology and ten years of experience in the analysis of proteins using MS-based proteomics and ELISA protein microarrays. She is currently a Senior Research Scientist in the Cell Biology and Biochemistry group at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Her research interests focus on the identification of protein biomarkers for use in diagnostic assays. Areas of special interest include human disease (cancer, pre-diabetes), radiation exposure responses and host responses to pathogens. Recent work has focused on the detection of bacterial toxins in clinical fluids.
